Privacy policy
Last updated 20 August 2026.
Sawhorse is made by Domus Salus LLC. This policy covers the Sawhorse Android app and the sawhorse.work website.
The short version: the app has no account, no tracking and no analytics, and it does not send your work anywhere. You can send it somewhere yourself, and this page explains every case where that happens.
The app
What we collect
Nothing. There is no account to create, no profile, no login, and no analytics or advertising code in the app. We do not receive your customers, your documents, your photos, your location, or a record of how you use it. We have no way to identify an individual user, and no server that would hold any of it.
Your work is stored on your phone, in the app’s own storage.
What leaves your phone, and when
Some things do leave, and all of them happen because of something you did or because a feature cannot work otherwise. None of them go to us.
| What | Goes to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| An address you enter | Google, through Android’s location service | To turn an address into a map position. Android does this, not us. |
| The map area you are viewing | The map tile provider | To draw the map. It reveals the area on screen, not your customer list. |
| A backup file | Wherever you send it | You choose the destination — a drive, an email to yourself, cloud storage. |
| An accountant packet | Whoever you send it to | You choose the recipient. |
| A customer contact card | Whoever you share it with | You choose the recipient. |
| Directions, a call, a text, an email | Google Maps, your phone app, your messaging app, your email app | Sawhorse hands the details over. What those apps do next is covered by their own policies. |
On addresses specifically: turning a street address into a point on a map requires a lookup, and on Android that lookup is performed by the operating system’s own service, which is operated by Google. This means an address you enter can leave the phone even though Sawhorse itself never sends it anywhere. We think it is better to say so plainly than to describe the app as fully offline.
Location
Sawhorse asks for location access as soon as it opens, because the map, the driving order, the mileage log and the arrival time all depend on knowing where you are.
- Foreground only. Sawhorse does not request or use background location. It is not tracking you when the app is closed.
- It stays on the phone. Nothing derived from your location is sent to us.
- Saying no still leaves a working app. Features that need a position will say so, and everything else carries on.
You can change this at any time in Android’s app settings.
Contacts
If you choose to import customers from your phone contacts, Sawhorse reads your contacts at that moment so you can pick which ones to bring in. It does not upload them, monitor them, or read them at any other time.
Android’s own backup
Android may include app data in the device backup it makes to your Google account, depending on your phone’s settings. That is a function of the operating system rather than something Sawhorse does, and it goes to your Google account, not to us.
Children
Sawhorse is a tool for running a business and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
The website
The launch list
If you give us your email address on sawhorse.work, we store it in this website’s own database in order to send you one message when the app is released. We do not use a mailing-list company, and the address is not shared with anyone or used for anything else.
Ask us to remove it at any time and we will, by writing to support@sawhorse.work.
The site itself
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no cookies beyond those WordPress needs to work. Nothing on the page is loaded from a third-party service, so visiting it does not report you to anyone.
Our web host keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, as almost every web host does.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Substantive changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
